With the First Team season now over, manager Rory Williams provides his thoughts.

The First Team closed the season out on Saturday with an away trip to Winslow. After the game we asked Rory to provide his thoughts on his first season in charge.

I believe that my management team and our players have achieved exactly what we promised we would to the club upon being appointed. A safe season looking to push the club in the right direction in years 2 and 3.

Finishing 13th isn’t anything to shout about but in terms of where we started with a lot of unknown we have certainly improved each month handsomely.

A season of ups and downs have seen us turn over a number of the league’s big hitters but then falling short against the teams struggling nearer the bottom shows that we need some more consistency throughout the season. This is something I will reflect on and map out over the next few weeks whilst taking some well needed rest.

My thoughts heading into next season would be that we’ve had a year of growth together allowing us to be more experienced as a team and club for the next upcoming campaign.

Thank you to my management team, my players, the volunteers and fans for sticking with me and the team through a difficult spell earlier in the season but also cheering us on when we went on a run of losing just 1 in 12 league games.

Nothing good comes easy, so here’s to bigger things next season. I hope to see all the same faces with us next season and also some new ones as well.

YOU BLUES
